Property taxes become delinquent if payment for a given year is not made to your city, village or township office by February 28th of the following year. On March 1st, the taxes are purchased and collected by the County Treasurer. The timeline will give you a better look at how the delinquent tax process works.
Our staff can help taxpayers create a payment plan, find assistance and craft short or long term solutions that resolve their delinquent taxes and avoid foreclosure. To make an appointment, please call 586-469-5190.
Note: As of March 1, 2018 the delinquent 2017 Taxes are "NOT ON FILE" and may have not yet been received from the local communities. 2017 TAXES MAY BE DUE. Online payments for 2017 Taxes will not be available until settlement is completed with the local community.
